Storm Lake -- Services for Wayne Bernard Porter, 68, of Storm Lake are scheduled for Sept 8 at 11 a.m. at the Seifert Funeral Home with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Alta. The Rev. Jim Poulsen will officiate.
Porter died Sept 5, 1982.
Porter, the son of Worth and Blanche (Bernard) Porter, was born Jan 1, 1914 at Grinnell.
On Dec 27, 1941, he married Ruth Marian Steig at Storm Lake.
He came to Buena Vista County at six years of age. He farmed with his parents near Storm Lake until 1941. They moved to Hartley and resided there until 1975 and then moved to Storm Lake.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Glenn Porter.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Plagmann, Dakota City, two grandsons, Mark and Garrett Plagmann.
