Jessie M. (Liston) Halfhill, age 74, of Mount Braddock, passed away at home Friday, January 29, 2010 surrounded by her loving Family. She was born on March 1, 1935 in Dunbar, Pennsylvania daughter of Jervis Liston and Mildred (Miller) Liston. Jessie was a member of the Pechin Community Chapel, Dunbar, Pennsylvania. She retired from the former Volkswagen Manufacturing Plant where she had been employed for ten years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Loren R. Halfhill, Jr.; a great grandson, Loren Adam Halfhill Jr.; a son-in-law Mark Uhazie; three sisters: Betty Stevey, Ruth Murphy and Nellie Leapline; and a brother, John Liston.
Left to cherish her memory are: her husband of fifty-seven years, Loren R. Halfhill, Sr.; their children: Clayton Halfhill and wife Tammy of Butler, Pennsylvania, Carol Uhazie and Barbara Halfhill both of Dunbar, and Michelle Halfhill of Mount Braddock; beloved grandchildren: Loren Adam Halfhill and wife Denise, Brook Shoemaker and husband Neil, Mark Uhazie and wife Danielle, Cassandra Walters and husband Denny, Raymond Wingrove, Samantha Mahoney and husband Eric, Clayton Halfhill, Jr. and Blair Garletts; thirteen cherished great grandchildren; four brothers: William Liston and his wife Shirley, Robert Liston and wife Ruby, and George Liston and wife Debbie all of Dunbar, Samuel Liston and wife Sarah of Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania Clayton Liston of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; sisters: Judith Richter and husband Richard of Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania, Sandra Austin and her husband Jack of Connellsville, Sharon Roebuck and her husband Ben of Dunbar; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 N o r t h Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday, February 1, from 2 to 9 p.m. Family will receive Friends at the PECHIN COMMUNITY CHAPEL, Dunbar, on Tuesday February 2, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. when the Funeral Service will be held with her Pastor Lee Maley officiating. Interment will follow at Cove Run Cemetery.
