Mary "Sue" Keeter Crowell, 90 of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. Sue was born in Cliffside, NC on July 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Charlie Walter and Bessie Whisnant Keeter. Sue was a 1943 graduate of Cliffside High School, a 1945 graduate of Gardner Webb, and a 1947 graduate of Appalachian State University earning a Bachelors Degree in Education. Sue retired after 30 years as an Elementary School teacher. Sue was member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, she was an active member of the United Methodist Women where she was a past president, the Christian Women's Club and Alpha Delta Kappa. She loved traveling, reading and shopping. In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William L. Crowell; brother, Furman Ray Keeter; and sister, Ethylyn Walker. Sue is survived by her daughter, Beth Crowell Safrit and husband Doug of Faith; son, William Harold Crowell of Morganton; and sister, Daisy Keeter Wilson. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews. Service: There will be a graveside service on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:00 am at Rowan Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Denny White and Rev. Chris Bennett. Service: There will be a celebration of Sue's Life on Saturday, November 12th at 2:00 PM at the Chapel at Trinity Oaks 728 Klumac Rd Salisbury NC 28144. Memorials in memory of Sue may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary 220 Grace Church Rd Salisbury NC 28147.
