Connie Kay (Bartlett) Meyer, age 70, of Lytton, IA passed on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Trinity Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA. Connie was born August 21, 1946, in Sac City to Art and Viola Bartlett. Connie lived in Sac County all her life. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Sac City and later joined Emanuel-St. John Lutheran Church in Lytton.
She graduated from Sac Community High School in 1964 and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge for one year. She came home to help take care of her father and to work at Nedrow Drug.
In May 1967, she married the love of her life, Harlan Meyer, and to this union two sons were born.
She helped her husband in their hog farming business and became very active in the Porkette Organization of Sac County, District 5 and at state levels. She was presented the award of Porkette of the Year by Governor Terry Branstad and was also given the State Belle Ringer award.

Connie worked for Community Opportunities in the head start division as the cook for Sac County and later on she was head cook for Kids World. She also enjoyed doing catering. Connie drove the public transit bus for Region XII Council of Government, drove for the Howard Center and also made medical trips with people in Sac County.

Connie loved her husband of 49 years, her sons, their wives and her grandchildren. She was a welcoming hostess, enjoying many family gatherings with her family and great nieces and nephews, and was famous for her peach crisp and cherry pies. She was also an avid card player and enjoyed camping. Connie also delighted in her Ya Ya Sisters and served as a chairperson at the Lytton Library.

Connie is survived by her husband Harlan; her two sons and families: Vernon and wife Aileen, grandchildren Corinne, Paige and Jenna of Sergeant Bluff, IA; and Justin and wife Erinn, grandchildren Caidyn and Aspen of Sac City, IA; brothers: Ron (Kay) Bartlett of Ames, IA, George (Candy) Bartlett of Fort Dodge, IA, and Greg Bartlett of Nevada, IA; sister Bonny James of Mesquite, TX; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Viola; her in-laws: Alfred and Erma Meyer; and infant grandson Mason Meyer.
