George A. Babb of Purchase, NY died on March 29, 2011 at the age of 83. He was born March 26, 1928 to Raymond S. and Mabel E. Babb in Revere, MA. He was predeceased by his older siblings; brother Frank and sisters Virginia Doolin and Patricia Noel and his younger brother Raymond Jr. He is survived by his wife Gloria and his 3 children and their families; Thomas (Evelyn) Babb of Mount Holly, NJ, Susan (Robert) Fanti of Stamford, CT and Jane (Tony) Ciaramella of White Plains, NY. Also survived by 2 younger sisters; Edith Skinner of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Lillian Chick of Rochester, NH.

He is the grandfather of 4 grandsons; Tony and Andrew Ciaramella and Robert and Christopher Fanti. He was a veteran of WWII where he served in the U.S. Army in Japan. He graduated from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance (now Bentley University) and pursued a 40 year career in accounting, retiring in 1989 from the Population Council, Inc. as Assistant Treasurer/Comptroller. He was a gifted artist of oil painting, a craftsman by nature and a simple man.

He married Gloria Linsalata, a resident of Brooklyn, NY on June13, 1953.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8pm at the funeral home where services will be held Friday at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or White Plains Hospital Center.
