R. Douglas "Doug" Mace, Age 84, left us suddenly on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Mace; sons, Craig Mace and Scott Mace; one grandchild, Kendra Mace, all of Elmira Heights, NY. He leaves behind four nieces and four nephews; and five great grand nephews and three great grand nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Mace; mother, Kittie Mace; and sister, Virginia Andrews. Doug proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a manager and salesman for various transportation companies. He was a long time member of the Horseheads Elks Club as well as a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Horseheads. Doug was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, Inc., 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Friday, April 24, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A celebration of his life and the Holy Eucharist will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 10:00 am in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 408 S. Main St., Horseheads. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads.
