Marjorie Lucille Haley Jenkins, 97, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed peacefully into eternity on November 4, 2016, in San Angelo TX.

A gathering of her family and friends will occur in Oklahoma City on Saturday, November 12, at 1:00 in the afternoon at the Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel (5820 NW 41st St., Warr Acres, OK). The family will facilitate a time of memorial and celebration of Marjorie's life. Please plan to share favorite memories, verses, poems, or stories. Burial will occur at Fairlawn Cemetery on Monday, November 14.

Marjorie lived a full life, born to Cora Anna and Oscar Lee Haley on March 11, 1919, in Fairview, MO. Her family moved to Colorado for a short time when she was young before spending most of her childhood years in Pawnee, OK. She was the third youngest of 9 siblings: Connie, Oleta, Beatrice, Don, Nadiene, Cora Violet (Peaches) and 2 babies that died as infants.

Marjorie married Dow Jenkins on July 3, 1939, and became mother to Lindsay. They had two additional children, Betty and Max. Marjorie attended the Bethel Assembly of God, and later Marjorie and Dow were members of the church of Christ congregation at 31st and Penn. After Dow's death, Marjorie attended the Mayfair and Cherokee Hills church of Christ. Marjorie took great pride in her job at the Daily Oklahoman newspaper as the key punch supervisor before retiring to care for Dow who suffered from cancer resulting in his death in March 1976. She enjoyed spending many of her retirement years with a dear friend and neighbor, Herbert Heard.

She was known as "Grandma" to granddaughters Melissa (Jenkins) and Tom Sanders, the late Linda (Jenkins) and Floyd Acord, Nancy (Jenkins) and Travis Crawford, and grandson Tim Jenkins and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Jill, Michael, Jeremy, Monica, Trevor, and Kayla. She was "MaMa" to grandson Bryan and Amy Jenkins, granddaughter Michelle (Jenkins) and Mark Phillips, and great-grandchildren Tyler, Harrison, and Haley Jenkins.

Marjorie leaves behind her children Lindsay and JoAn Jenkins of Webberville, MI, Betty (Jenkins) and Rusty Ruffin of Oklahoma City, OK, Max and DeAnn Jenkins of San Angelo, TX, and daughter-in-law Margie Hursh of Watonga, OK, the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends from long ago and more recent. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all, though we are glad she has been called home to be with our Lord and loved ones she has missed for so long.
