Maxine Mae White was born May 25, 1924 in Turtle, Missouri to Lafayette and Martha (Steelman) Wofford and passed away October 25, 2016 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 92 years.

On May 30, 1942, Maxine Wofford was united in marriage to Winford White. She was a member of Salem Full Gospel. Maxine enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers, especially roses, and she loved to make a garden.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Winfred, sons in law, Bob Robinson and Jerry Mahurin, great granddaughter, Ciarra Maize, sisters, Arzella Howell and Mildred Thompson, brothers, Donald Wofford, Arley Wofford, Woodrow Wofford, and Vernon Wofford.

Survivors include her children, Berniece Robinson, Salem, Connie Fitchhorn and husband, Dave, Salem, Linda Mahurin, Salem, Dorothy Mills and husband, Tom, St. Robert, Bill White and wife, Vickie, Salem, Ronnie White and wife, Reta, Branson; grandchildren, Sheri Stack and husband, Bill, Christina McCarthy and husband, Michael, John Mills, Melanie Roark and husband, Justin, Wendy Bermea and husband Terry, Trevor White, Travis White, Eric White; ten great randchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Maxine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service for Maxine Mae White was held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastors Bill and Sheri Stack officiating. Special music was provided by William and Velma Rohrer and Maxine’s children and grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Trevor White, John Mills, Travis White, Justin Roark, Matthew McCarthy, Tim McCarthy. Honorary pallbearers were Michael McCarthy and Bill Stack.

Interment was in the North Lawn Cemetery.
