Mildred Godwin Jones, 88 of 2703 Rockmart Why., Cedartown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002. She was born Jan. 28, 1914 in Polk County and was a member of Wimberly Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Jones, parents Henry and Mattie Chandler Godwin, and grandchildren Beth Jones and Carthell Davis. Survivors include: children, Jwewll Sloman, Raydon Jones, Jackie Jones, and Juanita Davis; sister, Helen Carmichael; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Studdard, Rev. Donald Ash, and Rev. Hugh Parsons officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Jones, Dennis Sloman, Barry Davis, David Taylor, Gregg Trovillion, Wayne Burk, and Tony Jones.
