The late Charles Gustave Abrahamson was born in Sweden on February 8th, 1856. He immigrated to Canada in 1881 and along with his brothers John and Andrew, engaged in contracting for the C.P.R. between Winnipeg and Beaver, which occupation he followed till 1881, when he moved to Revelstoke in the spring of 1885, where he with his brothers built the Central hotel, where a strictly first-class house has been maintained under the name of Abrahamson Bros. ever since 1885.

The late Mr. Abrahamson was married to Miss Josephine Stone in the year 1892, from which union there were four children, Oscar, Albert, Douglas and Ethel. The deceased was throughout his long residence at Revelstoke very prominent in in all movements tending to the general welfare of the public and was Chief of Fire Department No. 1. He was of a generous kindly and amiable disposition, an admirable husband, parent and son, whose loss is most keenly felt by those immediate relatives who are left to mourn his loss.
