"A Genealogy of the Clark Family", by Henry William Clark, Montgomery, Alabama - 1905:

Harvey Tucker Clark was born in Jasper County, Georgia, May 2, 1838. He was educated in the common schools of the community in which his parents resided and finally at Jacksonville, Calhoun County, Alabama, where he was living with his brother Dr. Courtney J. Clark. He was employed at one time as a clerk in the dry goods store of Mr. Porter at Tuskegee, Alabama, and afterwards at Pinelevel, Montgomery County, Alabama, in the store of his brother Henry W. Clark.
On the first of January, 1859, he became a partner in the latter’s store, when the firm was H. W. & H. T. Clark until July 5, 1861, when in an unfortunate encounter he was killed by one Alexander Urquahart. Urquahart was held to bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars. A bill of indictment was returned against Urquahart by the grand jury of Montgomery County, charging him with murder, but he had enlisted in the Confederate States Army and was thus enabled to postpone a trial for many years, in fact until after the close of the War and when tried was acquitted.
Harvey T. Clark was a capable young business man, and gave promise of making a successful merchant. He was affable and courteous and had a happy faculty for making friends. He was married to Elvie S. Locke of Montgomery County in 1860.
Mrs. Elvie Locke Clark married W. J. Lewis of Montgomery County, Alabama. The settled in Bullock County where Mr. Lewis was successfully engaged in farming. They had two children, one died, the other is the wife of L. L. Lasiter (Lasseter), a prominent businessman of Montgomery, Alabama. Mr. Lewis died many years ago. Mrs. Lewis died at Montgomery, Alabama, January 7, 1901.
