Born November 30, 1932 in York, he was the son of the late William A. and Ethel (Young) Matson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was retired from Thonet Industries. He had also worked at McCrory's Distribution as well as Pfaltzgraff, and after retirement worked part time at Weis Markets. He was a member of the Hawks Gunning Club and Pleasureville American Legion.
Mr. Matson is survived by a daughter, Aleta M. Kralowetz of York; a daughter-in-law, Richelle E. Matson of York; and four grandchildren, Teslin, Braelen, and Roenick Kralowetz and Lily Matson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Dorian Chad Matson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, with the Rev. Peter A. Seiler officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
