Joseph M. Satterfield, a real estate agent, broker and auctioneer for 30 years who had offices in Bath and Montgomery counties, died yesterday at Mary Chiles Hospital in Mount Sterling, apparently of a heart attack. He was 67. Satterfield, of Route 3, was also a retired right-of-way negotiator for the state highway department for 26 years before retiring about three years ago. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Satterfield taught real estate and appraisal at Morehead State University for six years. Satterfield, who was a first lieutenant in the Air Force and was a World War II veteran, was president of the Lexington Bluegrass Basha of the China, India and Burma Veterans Assocation. He was also a former president of the Owingsville chapter of the Future Farmers of America. He was a Mason and member of the Preston First Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Craycraft Satterfield; a son, Roy Satterfield of Owingsville; a daughter, Cherry Lyons of Owingsville; and a brother. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the Preston First Church of God.
