Mrs. Pauline Clark Waller, 92, peacefully passed away in the presence of her family on Sunday, November 6, 2016.

The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 9th at 11 AM in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Waller, a Pitt County native, was born on June 29, 1924 and was raised on her family farm in the Grimesland area. She was the daughter of Floyd M. and Alice H. Buck. After graduation from Grimesland High School, her family moved to Greenville, where she resided for the rest of her life. Mrs. Waller was one of the first employees hired by Union Carbide Corporation in Greenville. It was there that she met her first husband. In 1946 she married John Astor Clark and from this union two sons were born; Jerry Wayne Clark and John Patrick Clark.

Mrs. Waller was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church where she was a long time member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of The Council of Pocahontas in Winterville, NC. In July of 1972 she married Drewry T. Waller. Mrs. Waller was known for her quick wit, love of family and strong Christian values. She has passed on a legacy of love to her children and grandchildren and to all those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waller was preceded in death by her son, John Patrick Clark; first husband, John Astor Clark; three brothers, Marvin C. Buck, James E. Buck and Garland F. Buck; husband, Drewry T. Waller; and sisters-in-law, Hilda J. Buck and Janice B. Buck.

She is survived by her: son, Jerry W. Clark and wife, Judy, of Greenville; granddaughter, Gretchen Pilgreen and husband, Matthew, of Winterville; grandsons, Justin Clark and wife, Erica, of Winterville; Jonathan Clark and wife, Lisa, of Raleigh; and Stewart Clark and wife, Billie, of Richmond, VA; great grandchildren, Kamdon, Cooper, Carter, Charlotte and Kyler Pilgreen, Kaitlyn Clark and Miles Clark; daughter-in-law, Judy L. Clark of Greenville; and sisters-in-law, Naomi Buck of Greenville; Blance Betts of Elgin, Illinois; and Jean Waller of Midlothian, VA.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Home Health and Hospice Care, and special caregivers Mrs. Evelyn Branch and Mrs. Louise Curry for their dedicated, loving and compassionate service.
