Gloria M. Gilbert, 83, of Fort Wayne died Saturday, November 5, 2016, in The Genesis Center in New Haven.
Gloria honorably served in the U.S. Army.
She worked as a private duty nurse at Lutheran Hospital and nursing homes in the area for 30 years.
Gloria was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.
She was born October 18, 1933, in Garrett to Harry Oliver and Catherine Anna (Daughtery) Gilbert.
There are no living relatives.
Surviving are her best friends and caretakers, Carol Doehrman, Gloria Gibson, Karen Doehrman, Tony Brown, and Father Dan Durkin.
Gloria wishes to thank her friends and caretakers, along with Heart to Heart Hospice of Fort Wayne for their support and time to come to her home to care for her, and, in particular, Jayne Ivins, HHA, Jennifer VanAntwerp, RN, and Tina Roy, MSW.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Polycarp Fernando of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Fort Wayne officiating. Burial will be in Daugherty Cemetery in Geneva.
Honor guard services will be provided by active duty members of the U.S. Army.
