Rickey Jene Amrein, 67, Glenburn, passed away into eternal rest on Sunday, November 6, 2016 in a Minot Hospital.

Rick was born May 13, 1949 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Chester and Kathryn “Kae” (Wilson) Amrein. He was raised on the family farm near Glenburn and graduated from Glenburn High School where he was active in the athletic programs there.

He attended Brown Institute in Minneapolis and received certification as a disc jockey. He was employed as a disc jockey for a number of years in South Dakota, Montana, California, Alabama and Minot.

He returned to assist his father in the operation of the family farm near Glenburn and eventually took over the operation in the early 1990’s, primarily raising small grains throughout the years. He was known for his meticulous nature of keeping up the machinery, along with tending to his garden and yard. He loved to tinker in his shop. Rickey always had a love for music and played the accordion and transicord organ.

He is survived by his: children, Sean (Krista) Amrein Scura, Oahu, HI and Maxwell Amrein, Madison, Alabama; granddaughters, Maizee and Keana; sisters, Linda Jo (Paul) Williams, Lake Havasu, AZ and LaRae Jill Amrein, Reno, NV; brother, Dalen (Sharon) Nelson, Minot; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Redgie and his daughter, Shannon.

Celebration of Life service: Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rural Glenburn.
