Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph Stuart Lyons BRUBAKER, Jr. (1849/50-1897), and his wife Mary Susan GARBER (1853/4-1926).

She married James Ephraim CONNOR in 1898 in Lordsburg (now LaVerne), Los Angeles Co., California. They had 5 children together. James died in 1909.

In 1915 she married William Clarence CANADA. They had at least one child together. Elizabeth was widowed again when William died in 1956.

Elizabeth's obituary was in the La Verne Leader Newspaper on March 26, 1970, as follows:
"Services held for Mrs. CANADA
La Verne -- A longtime resident, Elizabeth BRUBAKER CANADA, born Aug. 1, 1881, died March 14. Funeral services at Forest Lawn, Covina, March 17.
Born in Maxwell, Iowa, Mrs. CANADA, moved to Wyoming as a baby, coming to San Dimas [California] in a covered wagon in 1890. She married James E. CONNOR, of Lordsburg [now LaVerne, CA] in 1898.
Surviving Mrs. CANADA are her five children: Willard C. CONNOR of Phoenix, Arizona; Bonnie M. WILSON of Lake Oswego, Oregon; James G. CONNOR of Santa Cruz, California; Claris C. LACOURSE of Hemet, California; and Kenneth W. CONNOR of San Francisco, California.
Also listed among the survivors is a daughter, Helen M. SHAVER of La Verne, CA.; two stepdaughters: Ethel A. PRESCOTT of Concord, CA; and Elva HILL of Upland, CA; a sister Helen M. WARD of Turlock, CA; two brothers: Henry J. BRUBAKER of Los Angeles, CA; and John B. BRUBAKER of Pomona, CA; 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren."
