Delray Beach, Fla. - Word has been received of the death of Doris Riehl Elmore, 81, of Delray Beach, Fla. formerly of Crawfordsville. She died July 30 in Boca Raton Community Hospital. Mrs. Elmore recently retired after 25 years of service with the Florence Fuller Child Development Center library. She had been employed with E.S.S.O. Oil of New Jersey and had resided with her husband at Caracas, Venezuela for 24 years before moving to Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and had attended Delray Beach Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Mount Holyoake College at South Hadley, Mass., and received her PhD. in chemistry from Yale University. She was born April 12, 1914 at New York City to Carl Theodore and Helene Happel Riehl. She married Norman M Elmore on July 4, 1942. He died Nov. 10 1973. Surviviors include a brother, Theodore A. of Tucson, Ariz., four nephews, including Dean Rush of rural Waynetown. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 pm Saturday in Alamo Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Daniel officiating. The body will be cremated in Florida. Memorial contribution may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
