Raymond Allen Carroll, 89, of Manzanola, passed away on Oct. 31, 2016, at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo. He was born on July 2, 1927, in Sublette, Kansas, to Don Roy and Allie C. (Kells) Carroll.

Raymond attended schools in Satanta and Sublette, Kansas, graduating in 1945. He then served in the Squadron B 413th Army Air Forces Base Unit. His specialty was Intercept Operator Fixed Station. He received an BA double major in Bible and English from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, and an MA from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. He was a farmer, hardware store manager, educator for 21 years and a Pastor and biblical scholar for 46 years. He authored several books, mostly on healing, and he survived leukemia. He was the most loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Violet Carroll of the Manzanola home; children, Varlerie (Rodney) McKinney of Fowler, Colorado; Rae Dene (Greg) Sentel of Omaha, Nebraska; Duane (Karen) Carroll of Hutchinson, Kansas; Damon (Erica) Carroll of Manzanola, Colorado; grandchildren, Kim (Jeremy) Wallace, Karly (Dan) Kauffman, Vanessa (Damon) Rath, Nathan and Daniel Carroll, Derick, Dustin, Dalton, Danner Carroll; great-grandchildren, Sennon and Keelin Wallace, Sayson Kauffman, Riley and Isaak Rath; brother, Roy Carroll of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ed Kite of the First Church of God in La Junta officiating. Visitation will be prior to service from 8:30 a.m. until service. Interment will follow at Fort Lyon National Cemetery at 12 p.m. with military honors by the Las Animas American Legion Post # 6 and Post #94.
