Earl Eubanks, 73, of Lubbock died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at a local hospital.

Visitation will be Monday from 3 until 5 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Pastor Terry Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Earl Grady Eubanks was born Oct. 31, 1933 in Cleburne to the late A. G. and Estelle (Cates). At the age of two, he moved to McCoy and attended Floydada High School. Upon graduation, Earl entered the US Navy and was assigned to the USS Bennington aircraft carrier. After his discharge, he farmed for two years in Floydada. Earl married Martha Marie Shore March 8, 1954 in Petersburg. Earl became a police officer for the Lubbock Police Department, retiring after 38 years of duty in 1995.

Earl is also preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Ann Eubanks in 1962.

Survivors include: his wife, Martha Eubanks of Lubbock; children, Randy Eubanks and wife Tancy, Phil Eubanks and wife Tonda, and Cindy Carver and husband Dennis; three siblings, Aurie Compton, Oran Eubanks and W. H. Eubanks; grandchildren, Justin and Brooklynn Eubanks and Josh and Ryan Johnson; and his dog Prince.
