Mr. Oscar Sweat, 79, died suddenly Sunday morning (May 5, 2002) at Satilla Regional Medical Center.
He is a native of Pierce County, but he has been a lifelong resident of Ware County. He is a retired bus driver and custodian for Manor Elementary School after being employed for 26 years. He is also a member of Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy.
He is the son of the late William Lawton Sweat and Doley Dean Sweat. He is the husband of the late Ouida Grantham Sweat.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Bordine (husband Richard) of Blackshear; two grandchildren; a great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday (May 7, 2002) at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in Mt. Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
