Anita "Lee" Davidson LaFountain, 57, of Lexington died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1949, in Scottsburg, the daughter of Reuben R. "Buck" and Lillian Bogie Davidson. She worked for the State of Indiana for more than 30 years, first as an attendant at the Muscatatuck State Developmental Center and later as the administrative assistant to Vernay Reindollar at Madison State Hospital. She served as the church secretary at New Hope Baptist Church numerous times. She enjoyed collecting Santa Clauses, snow babies, making her annual trip to Pigeon Forge with a group of friends, and the Christmas season.
She is survived by her husband, Michael David LaFountain Sr., whom she married Oct. 7, 1967; her mother, of Old Paris; one son, Pastor Michael D. LaFountain Jr. of Lexington; one brother, William "Bill" Davidson of Paris; two grandsons; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father on Oct. 15, 2001; one infant child; one brother, Roger Ross "Cobb" Davidson, on July 28, 2005; and one sister, Betty Nickens.
The funeral will be at noon Friday at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Dupont Cemetery.
Friends may call at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the church from 11 a.m. Friday until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hope Baptist Academy. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
