Coramae Anderson was born January 17, 1903 in Marshall Township to Nils and Ingri Johnson Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in Little Cedar Lutheran Church.
In 1908 she moved with her parents to the village of Adams. Coramae attended Adams village and consolidated schools, graduating in 1920. She attended St. Olaf College and MacPhail School of Music, graduating in 1923 with a diploma in voice and piano. She was an exponent in piano from the Art Publicating Society in St. Louis, Missouri, holding a piano certificate from there. She was a member of the Pi Mu National Music Teachers Society.
On December 26, 1929 she was united in marriage to Ernest S. Anderson at Little Cedar Lutheran church.
Coramae taught music in this vicinity for over forty years, also using her abilities in church and community affairs. She organized a Ladies Octet that sang at many church conventions and community programs. She also worked as assistant (unreadable) and bookkeeper for the local creamery for fifteen years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother and four sisters; Cora, Janet, Ida and Amanda. She is survived by a son, Elnathan of Galesburg, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Constance) Drake of Rosemount, Minnesota; grandsons, Nathan, Timothy and David Anderson and Colin Drake; granddaughter, Cassia Drake and a host of relatives and friends.
Coramae was active in many organizations, and held offices in Luther League, Ladies Aid, Mission Circles, Women's Federation of the E.L.C., Adams P.T.A., Adams Community Study Club, League of Women Voters and a member of the board of directors of the Austin Music Civic Association. She was a Worthy Matron of Columbia Chapter O.E.S. at LeRoy, Minnesota, president of the Austin area auxiliary of the Masonic Memorial Cancer Hospital, and an executive board member of this auxiliary for the state of Minnesota.
Coramae loved books and enjoyed sharing her information from them by acting as master of ceremonies for many local affairs, taking part in local plays and giving recitations.
Funeral services were conducted June 21, 1971 at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, Minnesota, Pastor Wayne Quibell officiating.
Coramae will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community.
