Gary Jay Potter, of Grandville, was born on June 14, 1937 and met his Lord and Savior, face to face, on November 6, 2016.

He is survived by his beloved family; wife of 52 years, Karen (Snyder) Potter; children, Kimberly (Thomas) Vander Klay, Victoria Potter, and Darci Jaye (Ross) Vander Klok; grandchildren, Brock (Cara) Vander Klay, Audra Vander Klay, and Chase Vander Klay; great grandchildren, Kiana, Isaac, and Tate; brother, Bob (Hermina) Potter; sister, Linda (Charles) Dittman; brother-in-law, D. Warner Pike; sister-in-law, Linda Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Winifred Potter; and Karen's siblings, Russell Snyder, Arlene Hogan, Joyce Pike, and Ronald Snyder.

Gary was the owner and operator of Gary J. Potter Wholesale Meats. He was a lifelong member of Beverly Reformed Church where he served as both deacon and elder. He enjoyed golfing with friends in the church league. Gary's family thanks God for his amazing grace and promise that love is eternal.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, at 11 AM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Rev. George Kroeze officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the , P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
