Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late William and Jane Angove Jennings and was a graduate of GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre. Robert was a salesman for Lehman Brothers Food Store Supplier. After his retirement from Lehman Brothers, he was a school bus driver for Williams Bus Line. He was a member of Landmark Lodge 442 F&AM, Wilkes-Barre, as well as Past Master of Lodge 442, Keystone Consistory, Scranton, and Irem Shrine, AAONMS, Dallas.
Bob was a member of The Parsons Primitive Methodist Church as well a trustee, past president and board member of the church and was a choir member. He was a member and past president of the Coughlin Band Parents Association. He was a member and past president of the Irem Brass Band. Bob served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Hockenbury, Dorothy Norton and Ann Veater; and a brother, William Jennings Jr.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Miriam Ruth Bosley, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Karen Kluk and her husband, Lawrence, Perkiomenville; Beth Pierontoni and her husband, Michael, Shickshinny; sons, Mark Jennings and his wife, Arlene, Nanticoke; Todd Jennings and his wife, Patricia, Carlisle; Jason Jennings and his wife, Meghan, Mountain Top; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral with military honors will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Andy Jerome, pastor, Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Landmark Lodge 442 will conduct Masonic service Monday evening. Plains American Legion Post 558 will be conducting the military honors.
