BURLEY – Sharon Alma Koyle, 71, of Burley, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at her home in Springdale, with her children at her side, after a courageous fight with cancer.

Sharon was the seventh of eight children to be born to her parents, Alma and Elva May Wilkinson Thompson, in Burley. The family was farming south and east of Burley when she was born. Her brother and sisters welcomed her home to their loving family and marveled at her beautiful skin tones and black hair.

Sharon grew up and received her education in Burley. Her first job outside the home was at Burger Port in Burley as a car hop, where she made friends very easily, and loved to meet and visit with fellow classmates and customers. She also worked at Ore-Ida Foods, J.R. Simplot, and Walmart, as a cashier/associate, where she was able to share her smile and heartfelt question, "How is your day?"

Mom loved to dance, play a game of cards, or Yahtzee. She also enjoyed Friday night trips to Twin Falls to the Depot Grill and later to Jackpot for seafood night. Her favorite snack was to place peanuts into a Pepsi, or good cold class of buttermilk and watch to see your expression.

She married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Wayne Larson. To this union was soon added three sons, Randy, Gerald, and Kelly. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple.

After Robert's sudden death in 1990, she later met and married Lester Fielding Koyle. They happily joined their families and began many new adventures together.

After Lester's death, her joy and goal was to her family and grandchildren. She loved to hold her grandchildren and tell them how much she loved each one. There was never a day gone by, that she did not call or talk with her family.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the primary, relief society, as a Stake Missionary, and last as a ward librarian.

Sharon is survived by her children: Randy (Kathy) Thompson, of Rupert, Gerald (Jenny) Larson and Kelly Larson, both of Burley; stepchildren: Arden Lester (Betty) Koyle, of Zalma, MO, Lucky (Sandie) Koyle, of Declo, Ray (Cheryl) Koyle, of Burley, JoAnn Smith, of Rupert, Richard (Tracy) Koyle, of Rupert, Rosalie McOmber, of Orem, UT, April (Greg) Greenwell, of Missoula, MT, Emma (Lowell) Curtiss, of Raft River, Grant (Jeannie) Koyle, of Burley, and Ardell (Karen) Koyle, of Paul; her siblings: Betty (Melvin) Jensen, of Montrose, CO, Elna Mae Draper, of Cheyenne, WY, Rayola (Juan "Levi") Valdez, Verna DeLeon, and Norma Kraus, all of Rupert; brother-in-law, Tomas Valdez, of Heyburn; sister-in-law, Kay Thompson, of Heyburn; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
