Arch Moore, a widely known farmer of Madison county, died last Saturday, June 1st, at his home, southwest of Winterset, after an illness of but a few days. Mr. Moore became will with heart trouble last Tuesday, and his condition soon became critical. He was 57 years of age and had lived in this county the past fifteen years.

The deceased was born on a farm south of Van Meter. Later they lived north of Van Meter and after they came to Madison county the Moore family made their home for several years on the Maple Lee farm, seven miles east of Winterset. They later lived on an acreage near Winterset, and have recently been residing in Lincoln township.

Mr. Moore was married to Miss Ella Conant, 37 years ago. They are the parents of two children, who survive him; Harold Moore, of Booneville, and Mrs. Cliff Roberts, of Lincoln township. He also leaves four grandchildren.

The Rev. Charles Thomas, a former pastor of Van Meter and of Worthington, conducted the funeral services at the Methodist church, Monday, June 3, at 2 o'clock, and burial was made in the Van Meter cemetery. He also leaves two sisters and four brothers: Mary Moore and Mrs. Edwin Fisher, Abe Moore, Cyrus Moore, and Will Moore, of this community, and Jackson Moore of Yakima, Washington.
