Death of Mrs. Matz Jungman of Van Meter-
The community was grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Matz Jungman, at her home, Wednesday morning July 30, 1930. She had been bed fast for several months and was in Iowa Methodist Hospital a portion of the time. Mrs, Jungman was Dorthea Wilhelmina Marquardt, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt She was born April 9, 1884, and lived the entire 46 years of her life in this vicinity. On December 20, 1905, she was united in marriage to Matz Jungman.
To this union was born thirteen children, ten boys and 3 girls, all of whom are living. Ferdinand, Harold, Leo, Marvin, Elmer, Lucylle, Raymond, Ernest, Robert, Lloyd, Paul and Alberta. Besides her husband and children she leaves her mother, Mrs. August Marquardt, three sisters, Mrs. Manda Wishmier, Mrs. Bertha Massz of Whitewater WI and Mrs. Emma Jensen and four brothers, William, Rufus, Carl and August Marquardt.
Funeral services were held at the United Brethren Church and conducted by pastor Rev. J.H. Hampshir. The six oldest sons served as pall bearers. Internment in the Van Meter Cemetery.
