Two guards were also ordered for this place. It was also left with Dr. Preston to decide as to whether Mr. Causby and the young lady seamstress should be allowed to continue their work, as both had taken a thorough fumigation bath and supplied with new clothing.

They had three children, but in early 1870 he deserted his family and came to America. Joined the U.S. Army in Memphis, Tennessee on 1 January 1872. Placed in Co. B 7th Cavalry.

Married Emily Larsen, daughter of Lars and Christina Larsen in Fargo, Dakota Territory in 1875. She had been married before to a man named Harry Williams. She died in February of 1880.
He was a quartermaster Sgt. in August 1875, but resigned and was discharged in June 1879 at Fort Abraham Lincoln.
Married his third wife Emma in January 1882.
