L. W. HOOPER DIED HERE LAST FRIDAY
Death Came as Result Of Being Struck By Lightning. Was Earlham Resident Since Last Summer

L. W. Hooper, 64, died at his home here Friday morning at 11:30. He had been in poor health since being badly burned and shocked by lightning on May 20 while working at the Clingman farm near Winterset. He and Mrs. Hooper have been living at the residence of Mrs. D. B. Cook since last summer.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Reece were held at the Friends church Sunday afternoon at 1:30. Burial was in the Van Meter cemetery.

OBITUARY
Leslie William Hooper, the son of George and Anna Hooper was born in Athenscounty, Ohio, March 11, 1873, passed away at his home in Earlham, December 10, 1937 at the age of 64 years and nine months.

When a small boy he came to Guthrie county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. On March 25, 1894 he was united in marriage to Fena Buel to this union was born one son, who preceded him in death May 24, 1931. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, one daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, one great grandchild, two half brothers, W. W. Anderson of Des Moines, Clarence J. Anderson of Edman, Oklahoma and other relatives and a host of friends.
