Butch attended Raymore-Peculiar High School and graduated from Pleasant Ridge High School in 1975.
He was an honor guard for the American Legion Post #104 in Aloha.
Butch is survived by his wife Tina Crook of the home; his parents, Velma Wood, Arcola, Mo. and Ed and Patricia Crook, Leavenworth, Kan.; two sons, Austin Crook and Chad Crook of Portland, Ore., and two sisters, Vicky (Doug) Evert, Leslie Mich. and Tracy Dugger, Leavenworth, Kan. in addition he is also survived by four brothers, Jim (Beverly) Whalen, Orrick, Mo., Joe (Stephanie) Whalen, Cross Timbers, Mo., Roger (Gloria) Wood, Paola, Kan., Rodney Wood, Hillsdale, Kan. and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a sister and a brother.
