A native of Coal City, W. Va., he was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korea War. He retired form the Navy in 1963 after 20 years.
He was the owner-operator of Bower's Trucking Co., Inc.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Taylor and Mrs. Wanda Baker of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside, Virginia Beach.
The family will be at 5516 New Colony Drive Virginia Beach.
