Edward J. Hanslovan Jr., 46, of rural Morrisdale, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at home.

Born June 21, 1956, in Philipsburg, he was a son of Edward J. Hanslovan Sr. and Mary E. (Albert) Hanslovan, both of rural Morrisdale, who survive.

On June 19, 1976, at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ramey, he married Elaine M. Rebar, who survives at home. The Rev. James E. Poorman conducted the wedding ceremony.

He was a 1974 graduate of West Branch High School.

He was self-employed and owned and operated EJH Contracting in Morrisdale.

A member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council 8701, he was also a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Morrisdale. He served as parish council president.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Stacey M. Guenot, of Morrisdale, and her husband, Billy; a son, Edward J. Hanslovan III, who resides at home; four sisters, Maria Davic, of Strongsville, Ohio, and Lori Abersold, Tracy Pennington and Sharon Smith, all of rural Morrisdale; a brother, Mark Hanslovan, of rural Morrisdale; two grandsons, Isaac T. Guenot and Luke E. Guenot, both of Morrisdale; and nu merous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Maribeth Seger; his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Orpha Albert; and his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Hanslovan.
