Mrs. Louise Singleton, age 9 1 of Clinton, passed away October 24, 2014, after an extended stay at Morning Pointe of Clinton. She was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church since 1936 where she was a faithful and dedicated member and held several positions.

Louise worked at Magnet Mills as a seamer and a knitter. Her job was interrupted to take care of her ill mother and to raise her family. She later became an employee of Martin Marietta at the Biology Lab as a barrier operator and a chemical operator.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Andrew Singleton; parents, Z. and Laura Farmer Burress. Louise was the last sibling of her family, preceded by Nelson Burress born 1900, Pearl Burress Dagley born 1903, Berthal Vassell "Pat" Burress born 1905, Tennie Burress born 1908, Margaret Burress born 1909, Willie "Bill" Burress May born 1911, Edner Burress born 1914, Sam Hall Burress born 1916 and Mary Burress Jones born 1920.

Louise is survived by a son, Harold Singleton and wife Jill of Asheville, North Carolina; daughter, Nancy Singleton Haynes of Oak Ridge; four grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; two nieces; four nephews and many cousins.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff and friends at Morning Pointe of Clinton.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Tennessee, INC., P.O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939-9910 to help find a cure for this terrible disease.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 25th from 5-7 PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Larry Pugh officiating. Graveside service will be Sunday, October 26th at 2 PM at Black Oak Baptist Church cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
