Ray Cox, 72, formerly of Stoney Fork, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at his home in Middlesboro. He was born in Pineville, a son of the late Robert and Lily Rice Cox. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Ray had worked in road construction and was a member of House of Refuge Pentecostal Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Saylor Cox, daughter Yolanda Pierson, brother, William Cox and sister, Kelsey Brummett.
Survivors include his daughters, Terry Cox of Pineville, and Teresa Cox of Middlesboro, grandchildren, Brandon Pierson and wife, Jessica, Santanna Cox, Tyler Hoskins and wife, Tiffany, one great-grandson, Connor Cox, brothers and sisters, Richard Gillis Cox, Verda Mae Saylor, Ronnie Cox, Conda Cox and Roscoe Cox and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Ledford and Rev. Troy Saylor. Burial will be in the Ben's Branch Cemetery at Stoney Fork with Brandon Pierson, Shane Howard, Dalton Payne, Bill Ledford, Jack Ledford and Jimmy Elliott serving as pallbearers.
Donations in Ray's memory are suggested to House of Refuge Pentecostal Church.
