Betty Alexander, 90 passed away November 2, 2016. She was born March 5, 1926 in Springfield, Illinois. After living in Kearny, New Jersey she moved to Florida and spent the past 10 years at Cypress Village independent living.

Betty was a member of the United States Cadet nurse corps during WWII. She was a retired registered nurse. She enjoyed volunteering on many committees while at Cypress Village. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Walter. She is survived by her 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and many friends who she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home of Jacksonville Beach. Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7th in Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8th in the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cypress Village Scholarship Fund or N.E. Florida Community Hospice. Services under the direction and care of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home
