ANDRE R. WILSON, was born on August 27, 1960 to Catherine Thomas and Curtis Wilson in Washington, DC. At the age of 17 he entered the U.S. Army. His first tour took him to Nuremberg, Germany; his second tour brought him to Fort Carson, CO, where he met his future wife, Delilah K. Maloney. Andre also served in the Gulf War (Desert Storm) in 1991. His army career lasted 17 years and 4 months. He received an honorable discharge on June 30 1995. After his retirement from the Army he was employed at Digital and Quantum for a number of years, where he held various positions. He was well respected by his peers and co-workers. After Quantum closed their doors, Andre enrolled at College America, where he received his CNA license. Shortly after he began school, he became ill. During his illness, Andre was cared for by Terrace Gardens, where he later volunteered for various events after being released.
Andre departed this life on Dec. 4, 2004. He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Wilson; step-father, Fred Drummond and his uncle, Calvin Drummond. He leaves to mourn in his passing, his wife, Delilah K. Wilson; daughters, Tanetia Wilson, and Asya Maloney and son, Christopher Jones; mother, Catherine Drummond. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Cheri Smith, Gregory Wilson, Janet (Brian) Hunt, Curtis Wilson, Rhonda (Eugene) Dickens, Angela Wanza, and Jerry Paul. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
