Vera Dunlap Vaughn, 88, of Greenville, entered eternal rest on November 3, 2016.

Mrs. Vaughn and her late husband, Harold S. Vaughn were married on April 2, 1945 and enjoyed almost 67 years of marriage prior to his death.

Born in Greenville on September 20, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Arthur C. “Pete” Dunlap and Gladys James Dunlap.

Vera was a graduate of Greenville High School and a member of Berea First Baptist Church. Mrs. Vaughn lived most of her adult life in the Berea Community where she and her late husband were very active in the community and Berea Lions Club. She retired as a library assistant at Berea High School.

She is survived by three sons, Steve Vaughn (Jimmie Lou) of Greenville, Randy Vaughn (Bonnie) of Hampton, and Mark Vaughn (Cindy) of Taylors; four grandchildren, Eric Vaughn, Joel Vaughn, Stephanie Gamble, and Cody Vaughn; seven great grandchildren; and Dennis “Dink” Wyatt (Linda) of Travelers Rest whom she considered as a son.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred and Joyce Dunlap.
