Billy Dean Smallwood, 80, of Horseshoe Bend, died Sunday, October 30, 2016.

He was born in Leon, Kansas on August 5, 1936 to James Alva and Nancy (Reese) Smallwood.

Billy served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Survivors include his wife, Etta (Carr) Smallwood of Horseshoe Bend; sons, Billy Smallwood and wife, Debra, also of Horseshoe Bend, John Smallwood and wife, Sandy, of Rockledge, Florida, and Jerry Smallwood of Melbourne; daughters, Barbra Small of Huntsville, Alabama, Lynn Gunnell of Texas; sisters, Barbra Phillips of Inola, Oklahoma and Nancy Beard of Conroe, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Susan Alice Smallwood.

Funeral services are at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.

Visitation is from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
