Lillian Shirley Cashour, age 93, of Frederick, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Odyssey Assisted Living at Montevue, Frederick, after an extended illness. Born March 15, 1923 in Johnsville, she was the daughter of the late Clinton E. and Lillian R. Sappington Nusbaum. She was the wife of F. Stewart Cashour who died in 2009.

Mrs. Cashour was a 1942 graduate of Libertytown High School. She was a former member of the Johnsville United Methodist Church and was an active 4-H leader. Lillian and Stewart moved from Libertytown to Frederick in 1999 and became members of the Frederick Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed dancing, music and reading.

Surviving are a daughter, Connie Ann Wivel and husband Dr. Nelson A. Wivel of Frederick and Haverford, PA; a son, Francis S. "Dick" Cashour Jr. and wife Nancy of Middletown; granddaughter Kristie Stottlemyer of Smithsburg; and 2 great grandsons, Noah and Isaac Stottlemyer. She will be remembered by her dear childhood friend, Eleanor Joy Lambert, and dear friend and former neighbor, Hannah L. Gaffigon. She will also be remembered by her dedicated care providers, Debbie Kennedy, Gladys Abankwah, Betty Dorsey, Sylvia Dickensheets, Ruth Kennedy and Donna Beatty.

She was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Hartle, infant sister Mary and a brother, Earnest Nusbaum.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave., with Rev. Thomas Fralin, former pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Libertytown.

The family will receive friends at Frederick Church of the Brethren on Friday, November 11 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Odyssey Assisted Living at Montevue for their loving care while she was a resident for 20 months, and the Hospice of Frederick County for their care for the past two months.
