A native of Guilford County, Lee retired from Merita Bakery. She was a faithful volunteer at High Point Regional Hospital for 29 years. Lee was proud of her 27 years perfect attendance at her church, Fairview United Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Ellen Sexton, her husband Charles Byrd Sr., a son, Charles Byrd, Jr., a sister, Shay Campbell and brothers, Penn and Harold Sexton.
Lee leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Ginger Byrd, a sister, Bert Johnston and husband John, brothers, Buck Sexton and wife Carrol and Bud Sexton and wife Betty, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Lee’s life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by the Rev. Harold Shives. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Fairview United Methodist Church or the Love Line at High Point Regional Hospital.
