Helen was born November 6, 1928 in Maroa, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Ernestine (Malone) Crabtree. She married James D. Rodgers on April 8, 1950 in Maroa. They shared 54 wonderful years together. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother.
Helen leaves behind her daughters, Becky (Rick) Gaede and Donna (Thomas) Maloney; grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Gaede, Tisha (Jaime) Zavala, Corey (Kristine) Maloney and Cara Maloney; two great-grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.
She graduated from Maroa High School. Class of 1946. Helen attended Brown’s Business College. She was also a life time member of Maroa United Methodist Church. Helen worked as a secretary and later retired from Carson Prairie Scott. She was a 60 + years member of the Beta Sigma Phi, and a member of the Elks Ladies. She wrapped gifts at Von Maur during Christmas for several years.
