Linda Mae Dishman Hancock, 70, wife of 51 years to Bennie R. Hancock, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at U.K. Medical Center. Born October 28, 1946 in Wayne County, KY, Linda was the daughter of the late Elvis and Nellie Lee Buck Dishman. She was also preceded in death by a sister Ruth Hancock and a brother Jay Dishman.
Linda worked as a Walmart sales associate in Lawrenceburg for 29 years. She was a member of the Fox Creek Christian Church, enjoyed shopping with her grandchildren and had a deep love for her family.
Along with her husband Bennie, Linda is survived by her daughter, Penney I. Read and her husband Tim of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, John Stephen Hawkins and Katherine L. Read, both of Lawrenceburg; three brothers, Kay (Flonnie) Dishman, Bobby Joe (Sandy) Edwards, and Jimmy (Melanie) Edwards, all of Wayne County.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, Nov. 7th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bo Sayre and Mark Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
