John L. Watts, 65, of Vincennes, passed away Monday November 1, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his family at his bedside. John was born December 2, 1950 in Vincennes the son of Sylvester and Mary Leehy Watts. He worked at the Vincennes Sun Commercial and was a self employed carpenter. John married Deborah Gaines on July 7, 1969 and they made their life together for over 47 years. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. He held memberships in the Moose and Fathers of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Watts, their children, Rodney Watts and his wife Katie of Petersburg, IN, Lauralee Reynolds, and her husband Patrick of Freelandville, IN and Johnnie Watts, and his wife Aimee of Vincennes, IN. Grandchildren, Brianna Hart, Jessica Watts, Trinity Watts, Hunter Reynolds, Nataly Reynolds, Abbigaile Watts, Jackson Watts, Jesselynn Watts and he was looking forward to the birth of Mackenzie Watts. His great grandchildren, Wyatt Watts and Owen Hart. He is also survived by his sisters Vonda Blessinger, and her husband Gib of Vincennes, IN and Joanne Watts of Vincennes, IN a step brother, Bud Crouch, and his wife Sandy of Vincennes. IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Mary Watts, his step mother, Helen Potter Watts, a brother Raymond Watts, half brothers, Dave Crouch and Jack Crouch and half sisters, Virginia Crouch, Gerogia Hedge and Phyllis Deisher.
Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday November 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Miller officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the family to assist with the expenses of his final illness.
