Tompkins, Edwin A. Sr. DELMAR Edwin A. Tompkins Sr., 60, passed away on May 16, 2015. He is the husband of 39 years to Charmaine Fulston Tompkins. He was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School. He was a service manager for the Good Year Tire and Rubber Company in Colonie and had worked for the Warren Tire Co. He was a former member of the Elsmere and Canaan Volunteer Fire Companies. He was on the advisory board for the Foster Care Program at St. Catherine's Center for Children, and also a board member of the Normansville Community Church. Edwin is the son of Marie Bangert Tompkins and the late Leonard Tompkins; father of Crystal M. (J. Adam) Cole of Voorheesville, Edwin (Heather) Tompkins of Cohoes and Robert Jansen of Delmar; brother of Darlene (late Kenneth) Bell of Delmar and the late Leonard F. Tompkins; grandfather of Cassandra and Cuyler Cole and Edwin Tompkins III. Also survived by one niece and two nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Durant Funeral Home, 741 Delaware Ave., Delmar. Friends may call Friday (today) from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment, Graceland Cemetery.
