Willie was the last know child (#14) of Archibald Mitchell (1796-1873) and Sarah (Swigert) Mitchell (1804-1854). He was buried in the Mitchell family plot in the old Honey Creek Presbyterian Church Yard section in what is now known as New Carlisle Cemetery.
