A rosary will be said then a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 beginning at 11:00 a.m. for Anita Gasparri, 94 of Chico at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 507 Pine St. in Mt. Shasta, Ca.
Anita passed away on October 27, 2016 at home in Chico. She was born on April 26,1922 in Weed, Ca. to Michel Angelo and Pierina Giorgis. Anita attended Weed High School,1940. She attended college throughout her life until age 75 when she married her second husband. At that time she was enrolled at Chico State, competing with the university students and maintaining an A average! She was a lifelong learner, always eager for new knowledge and experience On January 16, 1941, she married Louis Perry. Later on June 27, 1997 she married Roland Gasparri. Anita owned a retail store with her husband, was a manager of the student bookstore at College of the Siskiyous, and later worked in Accounts Payable at the student bookstore at CSUC. Her memberships include the Sons of Italy. Anita traveled extensively throughout the world, but her favorite destination was always Italy! Cooking her Sunday dinners were famous and all who knew her were delighted to be invited. Reading, attending plays, movies, gardening...she could grow anything.
She will be dearly missed by her loving daughter Judith Mulvany and adoring granddaughter Melissa Hankins and great granddaughter Brittany Hankins all of Chico. The four were close and loving friends and shared many happy adventures. Anita is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband Louis Perry, her second husband Roland Gasparri, her father Michel Angelo Giorgis, mother Pierina Ferraris Giorgis, twin sister Edna Mae Giorgis, brother Angelo Giorgis, sister Gloria Acquistapace and son in law Patrick Mulvany.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Jesus Center or Butte Humane Society in care of Brusie Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Shasta Memorial Park in Mt. Shasta.
