Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Terry Gardner and one sister Judy Hermie.
She is survived by her husband Don, two daughters, Lori Lohnes of Tremont and Michele Lohnes of Pekin; one step sons Don Meyer Jr., three step daughters, Carla Capps of Mackinaw, Sandra (Jim) Armstrong of Manito and Christine (Larry) Worlow of Pekin; 11 step grandchildren, 18 step great-grandchildren; and one sister in law, Nola Gardner of Pekin.
Peggy was a legal secretary for Bagely & Miller in Pekin for 35 years, retiring in 2007. She was a graduate of Tremont High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she had enjoyed the RCIA program, was a Eucharist minister and member of the Catholic Council of Women. She enjoyed boating and camping, and loved animals. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with them.
Peggy’s Christian Mass of Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Andrejek officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., with a Rosary service at 4:15 pm. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont. Memorials be made to TAPS or St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank.
