Rodney M. Chapman YAKIMA - Rodney M. Chapman, 73, a longtime Yakima resident, died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Rodney was born December 6, 1932, in Wapato. He was raised and educated in Wapato and graduated from Wapato High School in 1951. Rodney married Freda Naasz on July 20, 1953, in Yakima. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After returning to Yakima, Rodney worked for Snyder's Bakery for 32 years, until ill health forced his retirement. Rodney enjoyed restoring and repairing old cars, a hobby he shared with his son Ricky, who preceded him in death on March 20, 1998. He deeply loved being with his family. Survivors include his wife of 52 1/2 years, Freda Chapman of Yakima; a daughter, Vicky McPherson of Yakima; two grandchildren, Abbie (Dane) Alexander of Moxee and Tom Chapman of Yakima; four great grandsons, Alec and Issac Chapman and Noah and Moses Alexander; a brother, Larry (Kim) Chapman; and a sister, Beverly Bryan; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Myrtle Chapman and his son Ricky Dean Chapman. At his request, no funeral services will be held. Inurnment will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. (2006)
