Juanita Scoggins Rogers, 93, of Pampa, died November 2, 2016 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Barry Loving, pastor of First Christian Church of Amarillo, officiating.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Juanita was born on July 22, 1923 in Caddo, Texas to Walter Lewis and Nettie Mae Scoggins. She was raised in and around that area and graduated from Oklaunion High School in 1941. Juanita married Benton Monroe Rogers, Sr. in 1941. They came to the Pampa area in 1948 and lived in Gray County and then Wheeler County while raising their five children. In 1964 Juanita attended business college in Pampa and then worked as a bookkeeper until retiring in 2011 at the age of 88.

Juanita was a member of First Baptist Church, Pampa, and attended the Adult Singles Sunday School class. Juanita loved to bake and is well known for her pumpkin and banana bread as well as the fine jellies she made. These were made for giving, her special gifts. Juanita was an excellent seamstress, loved to crochet and knit and made dozens of afghans and knitted dishcloths simply for giving. Juanita loved being with her family, had many friends and never failed to tell them she loved them.

Juanita is survived by her five children, Douglas Rogers and wife Wanda, Benton Rogers Jr., Berinda Rogers Turcotte, Dwight Rogers and wife Rhonda, and Stephen Rogers and wife Debby. Grandchildren include Pam Rogers Minyard and husband Bill, Tina Rogers Beck and husband Brian, Benita Rogers Christian and husband Matthew, Zane Walters and wife Melissa, Bryan Rogers and wife Beverly, Lindsey Rogers Harmon and husband Chris, Slaten Rogers, Caitsey Rogers, Donya Butler and husband Gabe, Kara Gist and husband Ryan, Amber Rogers Davis and husband David, Zach Rogers and Jennie Rogers Terres and husband Matt. Great grandchildren are Mallory Minyard, Mitch Minyard, Ashlee Patton and husband Travis, Justin Beck, Benton Arthur Christian, Brittany Walters, Bailee Walters, Morgan Rogers, Riley Dwight Rogers, Sean McCready, Rachel Hillis, Emma Harmon, Kaden McPherson, Abbott Gist, Strickland Snead, Evie Butler, Jacob Davis, Lily Davis, Owen Davis, Sarah Rogers, Daxton Rogers, Allison Terras and Will Terras. Great-great grandchildren are Talan Mills, Trevor Mills, Trey Mills, Madison Patton, Marissa Patton and Maci Patton.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ganell Barrier and Yvonne Hanza; a brother Harry Scoggins; one granddaughter, Julia Walters; daughter-in-law, Johnnie Rogers; and son-in-law, Larry Turcotte.
